    POSITION SUMMARY  

    The selected intern(s) will be working in the Compliance department of our company. This means they will work in our central corporate office, onsite at our properties, and in our lease-up offices. Though the environment at each location is different, overall the work is fairly fast paced and lends itself best to those who can work well independently.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    Assist the Lease-Up Manager and Compliance team with special projects and administrative tasks such as:

    • Prepare files for audits by ensuring documents are in order according to EHMI standard policies;
    • Compile and track Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing data;
    • Assist with property lease-up by calling residents to confirm interview dates, faxing verifications, and filing documentation;
    • Assist with updating the monthly trackers and google docs;
    • Other related duties as assigned.

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities

    Qualifications

    PREFERRED SKILLS and/or ABILITIES

    • Detail-oriented individual with proven organizational and time management skills;
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
    • Ability to perform multiple tasks on an ongoing basis;
    • Demonstrated proficiency with computers (Microsoft Windows, Office, Excel, & Internet Explorer, and Adobe Acrobat);
    • Able to communicate effectively with supervisor and fellow staff;
    • Ability to work independently.

     

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

    Valid California Driver’s License and insurance required.

     

    LANGUAGE, MATH & REASONING SKILLS

    Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
